Carolyn Jones (April 28, 1930) was an American TV actress known for her iconic role as Morticia Addams on the original version of The Addams Family from 1964 to 1966. Born in Armarillo, Texas, Jones struggled with severe asthma as a child but went on to have a prolific career in television.
Aside from The Addams Family, she also portrayed Myrna Clegg on the TV series Capitol from 1982 to 1987 and appeared in over 700 episodes during her career. She received critical acclaim throughout her career and earned Golden Globe nominations in both 1948 and 1964. In addition, Carolyn was nominated for an Academy Award in 1958.
She had a successful acting career spanning over more than ninety credits. Carolyn was married to Peter Bailey-Britton until her passing.
