Caroline Fox was a nineteenth-century memoirist who was born on May 24, 1819, in England. She had a significant correspondence with notable figures such as Thomas Carlyle and Mill and was the sister of fellow diarist Barclay Fox.
Before gaining fame as a memoirist, she was born into an affluent and socially prominent family in Falmouth, England. Her father was a philosopher and inventor.
One of her most famous works, Memories of Old Friends: Caroline Fox of Penjerrick, Cornwall, was published posthumously after her death.
