About Carolina Herrera
Carolina Herrera, born on January 8, 1939 in Caracas, Venezuela, is a renowned Venezuelan fashion designer and entrepreneur. She founded her self-titled label in 1980 and has since dressed celebrities such as Michelle Obama and Jacqueline Onassis.
Prior to achieving fame in the fashion industry, Herrera showed an early interest in clothing design by creating outfits for her dolls as a child. Beyond her successful career in fashion, she became a passionate humanitarian and served as a Goodwill Ambassador for the Intergovernmental Institution for the use of Micro-Algae Spirulina Against Malnutrition (IIMSAM).
In terms of her personal life, Herrera married Guillermo Behrens Tello in 1957 before marrying Reinaldo Herrera Guevara in 1968. She is also a mother to four daughters named Carolina, Patricia, Ana, and Mercedes.
