Carole Bayer Sager, born on March 8, 1947 in New York City, New York, is a renowned songwriter known for her contributions to hit songs such as “That’s What Friends Are For,” “On My Own,” and “The Prayer.” She embarked on her career after graduating from New York University and achieving success with her first pop hit, “A Groovy Kind of Love.” This track was co-written with Toni Wine and became an international smash when performed by The Mindbenders.
