Carly Fiorina is a Republican politician and telecommunications executive who unsuccessfully ran for a California Senate seat and served as CEO of Hewlett-Packard in the early 2000s. After getting her degree in medieval studies and philosophy from Stanford University, she attended law school at UCLA, then went on to receive an MBA from the UMD College Park and an MS from MIT’s management program. She started her business career with AT&T in 1980 before taking over as HP CEO in 1999. Growing up in Austin, Texas as Cara Carleton Sneed, Carly married Todd Bartlem but the marriage ended after seven years. She later married Frank Fiorina in 1985. During John McCain’s 2008 bid for the White House, Carly advised him on his campaign.
