About Carli Lloyd
Carli Lloyd is a soccer player born on July 16, 1982, in Delran, New Jersey. She is known for her remarkable achievements as a U.S. women’s soccer phenom, scoring the gold medal-winning goals at both the 2008 and 2012 Olympic games. In addition to her Olympic success, she also played a pivotal role in helping the U.S. women’s team win the World Cup in 2015 and again in 2019.
Lloyd earned tournament MVP honors during the 2015 World Cup and made history by becoming the first woman to score a hat trick in a World Cup final match. Prior to her professional career, Lloyd honed her skills at Delran High School under the guidance of Rudy “The Red Baron” Klobach before playing college soccer at Rutgers University.
An interesting fact about Carli Lloyd is that she holds the distinction of being the first player, male or female, to score a gold medal-winning goal in two consecutive Olympics.
