Capucine, born on January 6, 1928 in Saint-Raphael, France, was a Parisian fashion model who gained international prominence as a movie actress. She began her acting career in 1949 with the French film Rendezvous in July. However, it wasn’t until ten years later that she took America by storm with roles in The Pink Panther and What’s New, Pussycat?. Her first American role was as Princess Carolyne in the 1960 Franz Liszt biopic Song Without End. Capucine appeared in a string of popular and sometimes controversial films throughout her career.
She was briefly married to Pierre Trabaud, a voiceover artist for six months before having an affair with William Holden, who was married at the time.
