Brittney Griner is a legendary basketball player, known for her impressive height of 6 feet 8 inches. She joined the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury in 2013 after being drafted first overall and quickly earned an All-Star spot in her rookie season. In 2009 she dominated on Nimitz High School’s basketball team in Houston Texas and was named the #1 Women’s Basketball Player in the Country. She took Baylor University to the 2012 women’s national championship and earned Division I Player of the Year accolades that same year.
Born to Raymond and Sandra Griner, Brittney married fellow WNBA player Glory Johnson in May 2015, but sadly filed for annulment just a month later. 2018 brought not only another successful season with the Mercury, but also news of her engagement to Cherelle Watson. During her time at Baylor, Brittney led them to a National title during Pat Summitt’s final season as head coach due to her ongoing battle with dementia.
