About Bridget Riley
Bridget Riley is a British artist known for her work in Op art, particularly her stripe paintings which she started producing in 1967.
She attended Goldsmiths College from 1949 to 1952 and later The Royal College of Art from 1952 to 1955. Her father served in the armed forces during World War II, while she was evacuated.
Riley has received recognition for her work, including honorary degrees from Oxford and Cambridge as well as the Praemium Imperiale by the Japan Art Association.
