About Blanche Oelrichs
Blanche Oelrichs, also known by her pseudonym Michael Strange, was a poet and playwright born on October 1, 1890 in Rhode Island. Among her notable works are the 1921 Broadway play “Clair de Lune” and the 1926 drama “Easter One Day More”. In 1928, she published a poetry collection titled “Selected Poems by Michael Strange”.
Prior to her career as a writer, Oelrichs spent her summers with elite families like the Vanderbilts and Astors due to her affluent background. She was married three times – to Leonard Thomas, John Barrymore, and Harrison Tweed – and had three children.
