Bilinda Butcher (born September 16, 1961) is an English rock singer and guitarist. She is best known as a member of the influential shoegaze band My Bloody Valentine, where her delicate vocal melodies are considered a key component of songs like “Only Shallow.”
Before pursuing a career in music, Butcher was a dance student at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.
In the late 80s, she suffered from panic attacks which led her to take up taekwondo, eventually earning a green belt.
Butcher has three sons named Toby, Billy, and Davy.
