About Bianca Andreescu
Bianca Andreescu is a professional tennis player who made history in 2019 when she became the first Canadian to win a Grand Slam singles title. She was only seven years old when she started playing tennis and at 11 had already joined Tennis Canada’s National Training Program in Toronto. After winning her first career title at the 2016 Australian Open, Bianca went on to win the 2017 Tennis Canada Female Player of the Year award and earned her first WTA title with a victory at the 2019 BNP Paribas Open. Born and raised in Thornhill, Ontario, Bianca is an inspiration not only to Canadians but to aspiring athletes around the world. Her father’s name is Nicu Andreescu; unsurprisingly he must be extremely proud of his daughter! In August 2017, she opened her WTA Tour season by beating Camila Giorgi – what an amazing start!
