Benita Jones (born April 23, 1976) is an American gospel musician hailing from Selma, Alabama. She gained recognition for her hit singles “When the Saints Go to Worship”, “Thank You”, and “When the Battle is Over”. Jones has been associated with Light Records and the Shanachie Label throughout her career.
Prior to her musical success, Jones attended the University of Alabama where she studied Voice Performance. After winning various singing competitions and earning accolades, she released her first album Hold On in July 2004. In addition to her music career, she served as Overseer of Worship at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Nashville.
Jones was born and raised in Selma, Alabama and married Delvin Washington in 2001. The couple has two children together.
