About Beatrix Potter
Beatrix Potter was an English author and illustrator, best known for her iconic children’s classic, The Tale of Peter Rabbit. She was born on July 28, 1866, in London, England. Growing up with a love for nature and animals, she often drew the small creatures she observed. In the 1890s, she started earning extra income as a designer of animal-themed Christmas cards.
Aside from her popular books such as The Tale of the Flopsy Bunnies and The Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse, Potter was also a conservationist, natural scientist, and scientific illustrator. Born into wealth in London to a Unitarian family ,she married solicitor William Heelis in 1913.
