About Barbie Kyagulanyi
Barbie Kyagulanyi, born on September 7, 1984, in Ntungamo, Uganda, is a renowned activist and philanthropist. She is best known as the founder of the Caring Hearts Uganda initiative which focuses on children’s leadership empowerment, HIV/AIDS awareness, menstrual hygiene, and education.
In addition to her philanthropic work, she gained recognition for her book “Golden Memories of a Village Belle,” published in 2012. With over 1 million followers on her Instagram account (@barbiekyagulanyi), she has achieved significant visibility.
Prior to her career as a philanthropist and author, Barbie attended Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda before pursuing a master’s degree from the University of London.
Her contributions to activism have earned her numerous social awards. Notably in 2020,she received The AidChild Leadership Institute’s Excellence in Leadership award in Uganda.
She currently resides with her husband Bobi Wine and their four children after they got married in 2011
