About Barbara Moraff
Barbara Moraff (born January 1, 1939) is an American Beat Generation poet hailing from New Jersey. Known for her works “Deadly Nightshade,” “Telephone Company Repairman Poems,” and others, she was a prolific writer who also delved into cookbooks and pottery.
Beginning her journey as a poet at the age of eighteen, Moraff’s early collections include “Learning to Move” and “Potterwoman.” In addition to her literary pursuits, she founded the Vermont Artisans cooperative in 1973.
Moraff settled in Vermont after being born in New Jersey and started a family with her lover. They had two children, one of whom—Marco—suffered from cystic fibrosis.
