About Barbara Montgomery
Barbara Montgomery (born June 25, 1939) is an American TV actress known for her role as Cassietta Hetebrink on NBC’s Amen and as Olivia Williams on ABC’s Married People. In addition to her television work, Montgomery has also had a successful stage career, earning an Obie Award for her performance in the Off-Broadway production of My Sister, My Sister in the 1970s. One of her first screen credits was in the 1976 made-for-TV movie The First Breeze of Summer.
Prior to gaining recognition as an actress, Montgomery was part of New York-based theater ensembles including the La Mama Experimental Theatre Club and the Negro Ensemble Company. She was born and raised in Queens, New York.
