About Barbara Marten
Barbara Marten is a British TV actress, known for her role as Eve Montgomery in Casualty and appearances in soap operas such as Eastenders and Brookside. She was born on January 3, 1947, in Leeds, England. Marten attended William Newton School in Norton and later studied at Stockton and Billingham Technical College. After briefly teaching, she pursued acting after joining a theatre group in Coventry.
Marten furthered her education at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art but initially felt discouraged about pursuing an acting career. She eventually found success on television, appearing in drama serials like Harry, The Bill, and Band of Gold.
Outside of her career, Marten resides with her husband Mike Kenny, a playwright for young people’s theater; they have three sons together.
