Ayu Azhari is an award-winning film and television star, known for her over three-decade-long acting career. She was born on November 19, 1969 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Her notable works include popular films like “Telegram,” “Without Mercy,” and “Catatan Harian Tante Sonya.” Ayu made her feature film debut in 1984’s “Akibat Buah Terlarang,” after which she was adopted as a protege by director Teguh Karya.
In 2003, Ayu penned a book on the risks of voyeurism following a scandal involving the unwitting taping of female celebrities changing their clothes, including her sister Sarah.
Ayu comes from a large family; she is the oldest of seven children born to H. Abdullah Azhari and Hj. Khairani. She has been married twice – first to Wisnu Djodi Gondokusumo and later to Mike Tramp in 2003 – and has six children.
