Ayo Makun, born on August 19, 1971 in Warri, Nigeria, is a popular Nigerian comedian widely known by the stage name A.Y. He gained widespread popularity for his A.Y. Live show featuring original comedic sketches.
In 2014, he made his debut in film as the producer and star of “30 Days in Atlanta.” Before rising to fame, he graduated from Delta State University in Nigeria in 2003 and was voted the most celebrated student on campus by the student body in 2001.
Notable achievements include being named a U.N. Peace Ambassador in 2009 and winning the Nigerian Entertainment Award for comedian of the year in 2010.
Ayo Makun is married to Mabel and they have one daughter named Michelle. He is also the oldest of seven siblings.
