Awie, born on November 24, 1968, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is a prominent rock singer known for his role as the frontman of the Malaysian rock band Wings. He left the band in 1994 but later rejoined in 2002 after releasing solo albums such as Satu (1998). Prior to fame, he began his music career in Kuala Lumpur in 1986. Awie is also recognized as an actor appearing in films like Zombies from Banana Village (2007) and Lebuhraya Ke Neraka (2017).

Born Dato’ Ahmad Azhar bin Othman, he was married to actress Arni Nazira with whom he has two children before their divorce in 2006.
