Avalanna Routh was a child who gained attention as the face of the cancer research organization Cure ATRT. Born on October 25, 2005 in the United States, she battled Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor for six years before passing away tragically due to the disease.
Diagnosed with ATRT when she was only nine months old, Avalanna became immensely popular on social media prior to her death, amassing over 500,000 Twitter fans. She captivated many with her story and bravery in fighting against this rare form of cancer.
A notable moment in her life was a ‘wedding’ party that staff at the hospital she attended threw for her and singer Justin Bieber in 2011, knowing that she was a huge fan of his music.
Her parents, Aileen and Cameron Routh were instrumental in launching Cure ATRT as they sought to advocate for more research into treatments for this type of cancer.
