About Aumua Amata
Aumua Amata, born on December 29, 1947, in Pago Pago, American Samoa, is a politician who currently serves as the delegate for American Samoa in the U.S. House of Representatives. Her full name is Amata Catherine Coleman Radewagen.
Prior to her political career, she joined the Republican National Committee in 1986 and eventually became its most senior member in 2012. She also served on the staffs of various U.S. representatives in the 1990s and 2000s including Phil Crane of Illinois and J.C. Watts Jr. of Oklahoma.
Amata’s father, Peter Tali Coleman, was also involved in politics and served as the Governor of American Samoa. She is married to Fred Radewagen with whom she has three children.
