About Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen
Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen, born on January 22, 1987 in Trondheim, Norway, is a cross-country skier who has had a successful career representing her country. She achieved the gold medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics in the 4 × 5 km relay event and also claimed gold at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in 2007, 2015, and 2017.
Jacobsen began skiing at the age of three and joined her first ski club when she was ten. She later pursued higher education by studying medicine at the University of Oslo.
Notably, Jacobsen overcame a serious mountain biking accident in 2009 which resulted in injuries to her jaw, back and elbows. Despite this setback, she recovered in time to compete at the following year’s Winter Olympics.
Born into a family of medical professionals with both parents working as doctors, she has a brother named Sten.
