Assumpta Serna (born September 16, 1957) is a Spanish TV actress known for her roles in the television series including Borgia, El Crac, and Aqui No Hay Quien Viva. She has also gained recognition for her performances in films such as The Craft (1996), Matador (1986), and I, the Worst of All (1990). Additionally, she is renowned for her portrayal of Teresa Moreno in ITV’s Sharpe series of historical movies.
Prior to achieving fame, Serna appeared in early acting credits including Sweet Hours (1982) and The Cuenca Crime (1980). Notably, when not on screen, she taught drama and authored two acting technique manuals.
Born Maria Asuncion Rodes Serna in Barcelona, Spain. After divorcing Carlos Tristancho, she later married Sharpe’s Company co-star Scott Cleverdon.
