Anne Smith (born July 1, 1959 in Texas) is a former professional tennis player who was ranked number one in the world in women’s doubles in 1980 and 1981. She also achieved a career-high ranking of number 12 for singles tennis in 1982.
Prior to her successful tennis career, Smith started competing in Doubles and Singles events in 1976 and 1977. In addition to her athletic pursuits, she is a licensed psychologist in Texas, Arizona, and Massachusetts; having earned her bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Trinity University.
Anne Smith grew up with her family in Dallas, Texas.
