Anne Rivers Siddons is a renowned twentieth-century fiction author known for her captivating works set in the southern United States. Born on January 9, 1936, in Atlanta, Georgia, she gained fame for her compelling horror novels such as The House Next Door (1978) and Peachtree Road (1988).
Before gaining literary acclaim, Siddons attended Auburn University and later served as a senior editor at Atlanta magazine.
In addition to her successful writing career, she also ventured into film adaptations. Her novel Heartbreak Hotel was adapted into the movie Heart of Dixie, featuring Ally Sheedy.
