About Ann Nesby
Ann Nesby, born on July 24, 1955 in Illinois, is an R&B and gospel singer known for her work with the Grammy-winning ensemble Sounds of Blackness. She has also released notable solo albums such as The Lula Lee Project and Put It On Paper.
Prior to achieving solo success, Nesby performed with Sounds of Blackness throughout the 1980s and 1990s before releasing her debut solo album I’m Here for You in 1996. Additionally, she gained recognition for her role in a successful Tyler Perry-written stage play titled I Know I’ve Been Changed.
Born Ann Bennett in Joliet, Illinois, she later settled in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. Nesby married Timothy Lee in 2005.
