Angela Madatyan, born on August 21, 1983, in Vanadzor, Armenia, is best known as the wife of Serj Tankian, the lead vocalist of System of a Down. She met Tankian in 2004 when he was still working as the CEO of a computer software company. In addition to her role as a family member and spouse, Madatyan also works as a hairdresser, stylist and designer.
Madatyan and Tankian tied the knot on June 10, 2012 and have since welcomed their son named Rumi Tankian in 2014. She also has a sister by the name Diana Madatyan.
