About Andrew John Ridgeley
Andrew John Ridgeley, born on January 26, 1963 in England, is a British singer, songwriter and guitarist. He gained fame as one-half of the 1980s group Wham! and released two albums with the band – Fantastic and Make It Big. In 1990, he also released his own solo album titled Son of Albert.
Ridgeley was born to a British mother and an Egyptian-Italian father. He achieved significant commercial success with Wham! selling over twenty-five million records worldwide. The group’s visit to China in 1985 is credited with opening up the country to Western music more than anything else at that time.
After his music career, Ridgeley pursued Formula Three racing in Morocco. Additionally, he dated Bananarama’s Karen Woodward.
