Andrea Levy Feet

Andrea Levy was an English author and novelist known for her books Small Island in 2004 and The Long Song in 2010. She won the Orange Prize for Fiction in 2004. Before becoming a writer, she studied textile design at Middlesex Polytechnic school and worked as a costume assistant for the BBC and Royal Opera House. She gained international attention with her first novel Every Light in the House Burnin’ released in 1994. Levy received numerous awards including the Walter Scott Prize, Man Booker Prize, Commonwealth Writers Prize, and Whitbreak Book of the Year award. Born on March 7, 1956, in London to Jamaican parents, she later married Bill Mayblin.
