About Andrea Dworkin
Andrea Dworkin, born on September 26, 1946 in Camden, New Jersey, was a feminist activist best known for her outspoken opposition to the adult entertainment industry and the subjugation of women. In 1979, she gained attention with the publication of her controversial work “Pornography: Men Possessing Women.”
Prior to gaining prominence as an activist, Dworkin discovered her passion for writing at a young age and pursued literature at Bennington College. She also worked as an assistant to feminist poet Muriel Rukeyse.
In 1998, Dworkin married fellow writer and activist John Stoltenberg.
