About Ana Paula Henkel
Ana Paula Henkel, born on February 13, 1972 in Brazil, is a former Brazilian volleyball player and journalist. She represented her country at four Summer Olympics in both indoor volleyball and beach volleyball.
Before gaining fame as a sports figure, Henkel practiced ballet and athletics as a child before joining the varsity volleyball team. Following her retirement from professional sports in 2010, she pursued studies in architecture at UCLA after moving to Los Angeles. In addition to her architectural pursuits, she became known for her conservative political commentary.
In her personal life, Ana Paula Henkel has been married multiple times – first to basketball player Jeffty Connelly and later to volleyball coach Marcus Miranda. In 2010, she married retired beach volleyballer Carl Henkel with whom she shares a son named Gabriel born in 2001.
