Amy Austria was born on December 13, 1961 in the Philippines. She is a well-known award-winning Filipino actress, recognized for her recurring roles in shows like Pangako Sa ‘Yo and its 2015 revival of the same name. Additionally, she has had notable roles in Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin and Lorenzo’s Time.
Before gaining fame as an actress, Austria supported her family by selling chewing gum before earning her first film credit in the 1976 movie Bitayin Si Baby Ama. Throughout her career, she has received the title of Best Actress three times at the Metro Manila Film Festival since 1980.
Austria was born Esmeralda Dizon Tuazon and is the second eldest of six children.
