Amanda Mackey Johnson (born September 22, 1951) was an American casting director known for her work on films and TV series such as The Fugitive, A League of Their Own, and A Million Little Things. She passed away in August 2022.
Before her career in casting, she spent a semester at the Sorbonne in France before returning to the United States and taking a job as an agent with J. Mickey Bloom. She later transitioned into casting and worked under the guidance of legendary casting director Marion Dougherty.
Johnson’s notable achievements include casting five movies for director Andrew Davis, including The Fugitive, Holes, and Chain Reaction.
Born and raised in New York City, Johnson is survived by two daughters.
