Amanda Hocking, born on July 12, 1984 in Austin, Minnesota, is a young adult author known for her romantic and paranormal-themed novels. She has authored several series including My Blood Approves, Trylle Trilogy, and the Hollows and Watersong books.
Prior to gaining fame as an author, she worked at a group home while writing more than fifteen novels in her spare time. She achieved considerable success as a self-published author selling over a million copies of nine books before signing a publishing contract with St. Martin’s Press.
She resided and wrote in Rochester, Minnesota and in December 2014 married Mike Arends.
