About Alyssa Naeher
Alyssa Naeher, born on April 20th, 1988 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, is a professional soccer player known for her role as a goalkeeper. She made her professional debut with the Boston Breakers in 2010 and later returned to the team in 2013 after playing two seasons with Turbine Potsdam in Germany. In 2014, she joined the U.S. women’s soccer team.
Naeher served as a backup during the team’s World Cup Championship run in 2015 and became the starter for their successful title win at the 2019 World Cup.
Before her professional career took off, Naeher achieved success during high school as a three-time All-State and three-time FAA All-Conference selection while attending Christian Heritage High School in Trumbull, Connecticut. She continued her soccer journey at Penn State University from 2006 to 2009.
Born to John and Donna Lynn Naeher, Alyssa has a twin sister named Amanda and a younger sister named Abigail.
