About Alysa Liu
Alysa Liu (born August 8, 2005) is an American figure skater from Clovis, California. She gained attention when she won the ladies’ singles gold medal at the 2019 U.S. Figure Skating Championships, becoming the youngest ever to do so.
Prior to her senior-level success, Liu had already established herself as a force in junior figure skating by winning the ladies’ singles event at the 2018 U.S. Figure Skating Championships and at the intermediate level in 2016.
In addition to her domestic achievements, Liu has also competed internationally, placing 7th in the ladies’ singles event at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Liu began skating at age five and entered her first competition in 2015 at age ten. In addition to her competitive accolades, she won both the Asian Trophy and Pacific Coast Sectional events in 2019.
Outside of skating, Liu comes from a family of six; her father Arthur is an attorney and she has four siblings: Selina and triplets Joshua, Justin, and Julia.
