Alondra de la Parra, born on October 31, 1980 in New York, is a prominent conductor known for founding and leading the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas. This Mexican-American musician has also taken on the role of artistic director with the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra. Notable recordings from her career include Travieso Carmesi and the platinum-certified album Mi Alma Mexicana. Prior to gaining fame, de la Parra pursued music studies at London’s St. Leonards-Mayfield School before obtaining a bachelor’s degree in piano and a master’s degree in conducting from New York City’s Manhattan School of Music. De la Parra has made appearances as a guest conductor with prestigious ensembles such as the New York Pops at Carnegie Hall, Buenos Aires Philharmonic, and Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra.

Having moved from New York City to Mexico City at age two, de la Parra began learning piano and cello before relocating to London for further training as a conductor. She later returned to New York to continue her musical pursuits.
