Alison Stewart, born on July 4, 1966 in New Jersey, is a renowned journalist. She gained prominence for her Peabody Award-winning coverage of the 1992 American presidential race on MTV. Stewart later went on to anchor ABC’s World News Now alongside Anderson Cooper and host her own PBS program called Need to Know.
Prior to achieving fame, Stewart pursued a bachelor’s degree in English from Brown University while simultaneously working at WBRU radio station. After graduating, she held positions at both PBS and WHTZ-New York.
Stewart is also recognized for her work as a radio host on NPR’s The Bryant Park Project and for authoring the book First Class in 2013, which chronicles the history of Washington D.C.’s Dunbar High School.
Born and raised in Glen Ridge, New Jersey and New York City, Stewart married Bill Wolff—producer of The View—and has one child with him.
