Alison Brown is an American banjo player and guitarist, born on August 7, 1962 in the United States. Since 1990, she has achieved significant recognition within the music industry, winning multiple Grammy awards and releasing several albums.
Brown’s passion for playing banjo and guitar developed at a young age; by eight years old, she had already begun mastering these instruments. In the summer of 1978, her musical talents led her to travel across the country performing at various festivals.
Prior to pursuing a career in music, Brown pursued higher education and attended Harvard University where she studied history and literature.
Her roots can be traced back to Hartford, Connecticut where she grew up with her family.
