About Alina Kabaeva
Alina Kabaeva, born on May 12, 1983, is a former Russian rhythmic gymnast who achieved gold at the 2004 Athens Summer games and had previously won bronze at the Sydney Olympics. She holds the esteemed title of Russian Honored Master of Sports and transitioned into politics as a State Duma Deputy in 2007. In 2014, she took on the role of chairing the board of directors for the National Media Group in Russia.
Kabaeva began her training in rhythmic gymnastics at age three despite early perceptions that she was too large and unattractive to excel competitively. Throughout her career, Kabaeva has amassed numerous gold medals from world championships, European championships, World Cup Finals, Grand Prix Finals, and Goodwill Games.
