Alina Ibragimova, born on September 28, 1985 in Russia, is a violinist. She is known for being one of the youngest winners of the Emily Anderson Prize and has received various other awards and trusts including the Royal Philharmonic Society Young Artist Award in 2010.

Ibragimova began learning violin at age four and started playing with orchestras and performing at ceremonies shortly after. In 2002, she won the London Symphony Orchestra Music Scholarship which launched her career.

An interesting fact about Ibragimova is that she worked under the guidance of Yehudi Menuhin and played the slow movement in Bach’s double violin concerto for Menuhin’s funeral. Previously, she had played it under his instruction at the Universal Declaration of Human Rights 50th Anniversary Celebration in France.

Her family life was influenced by music as well; her father, a double bass player, joined the London Symphony Orchestra when Ibragimova was ten years old so her family relocated to England.
