About Alina Dumitru
Alina Dumitru, born on August 30, 1982 in Bucharest, Romania, is a renowned MMA Fighter. She is best known for her success as a Judoka and is widely considered the most successful in Romanian history. Dumitru achieved a record eight European Judo Championships from 2004 to 2012 and clinched the gold medal in the 48-kilogram weight class at the 2008 Summer Olympics.
Before rising to fame, she grew up in Ploiesti, Romania and commenced practicing judo in 1994. Her dedication led her to become a Junior World Champion in 2000. Notably, her victory over judo legend Ryoko Tani at the 2008 Olympics was considered a monumental upset and made her the first Romanian judoka to win an Olympic gold medal.
