Alicia Banit is an Australian TV actress known for her role as Kat Karamakov on ABC Australia’s Dance Academy. Born on September 5, 1990, in St. Helena, Victoria, she began her career with a recurring role on the popular Australian soap opera Neighbours.
Banit gained recognition after landing the role of Kaitlyn in the comedy series Summer Heights High in 2007. She showcased her dance skills in various genres including ballet, hip hop, tap, modern and jazz from a young age and received a scholarship to The Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School at just 12 years old.
Her television debut was at the age of five on Halifax f.p., and she continued to pursue acting while honing her dancing abilities. Banit has a brother named Matt and hails from St. Helena in Victoria.
