About Alice Chan Wai
Alice Chan Wai (born November 21, 1973) is a Chinese actress known for her work in both television and film. She gained recognition for her recurring role as Cheng Hei-man in Divine Retribution and for her appearance in the 2012 series Friendly Fire.
Before pursuing acting, she attended Chu Hai College of Higher Education but left to compete in the Miss Asian beauty pageant at the age of 23. After winning the pageant, she signed a contract with Asia Television and made her acting debut in 1997 as Chan Yuen-Sheung in The Snow is Red. That same year, she also starred in Lan Kwai Fong, marking her feature film debut.
Chan received critical acclaim and several awards for portraying actress Anita Mui in the 2005 series A Dream Named Desire.
Born in Beijing, China, Chan moved to Hong Kong at a young age where she was raised alongside an older sister.
