About Alexis Spight
Alexis Spight is a gospel singer born on July 3, 1993 in New York. In 2012, she was the first runner-up of BET’s Sunday Best season five and released her debut album titled L.O.L.: Living Out Loud, which reached #1 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums Chart. The album earned her nominations for New Artist of the Year and Contemporary Female Vocalist of the Year at the Stellar Music Awards.
Spight began singing in choir at three years old and started writing music at twelve to cope with losing her family home due to financial difficulties. She attended the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts and auditioned for American Idol and The X Factor before appearing on Sunday Best. Later, she released a second album called Dear Diary in August of 2015.
She is one of Pastor Lee Allen Jr. and Michelle Spight’s five children; her father is a guitarist, singer, and preacher who comes from a lineage of preachers that includes her uncle and grandfather. At eight years old, Alexis formed a singing group with her three sisters known as The Spight Sisters.
