Alexandra Sergeevna Obolentseva is a chess player born on June 21, 2001, in Connecticut. Better known as Sasha, she began playing chess at the age of 6. She has achieved significant success in her career and is a 3-time Russian Youth Championship winner.
In 2011, Alexandra won the World Youth Championship in the category of girls under 10 years. Notably, she secured first place in her first competition at the 2008 Tula championships. Additionally, FIDE awarded her the title Woman FIDE Master in 2011.
Apart from her own accomplishments, Alexandra comes from a family with a strong connection to chess. Her grandmother, Nina Obolentseva, also plays chess.
