About Alexa Scimeca-Knierim
Alexa Scimeca-Knierim is an American figure skater who was born on June 10, 1991, in Illinois. She gained recognition for winning a bronze medal representing the U.S. at the 2018 Winter Olympics and also claimed the top spot in the 2015 U.S. Figure Skating Championships, setting U.S. record scores in both the short program and free skate.
She began her skating journey in 1998 under the guidance of coaches Trish Cazeau Brown and Sergei Telenkov. Notably, at the 2018 Winter Olympics, she and her partner made history by being the first American skaters to successfully land a quad twist in competition.
Besides her remarkable achievements on ice, Alexa has a brother and sister and married her skating partner Chris Knierim in June of 2016.
