Alaa Balkhy (born February 14, 1989) is a Saudi designer, illustrator, and blogger known for her work on designer bags, Oud bottles, shoes, and more. She is the creator of the pop culture art brand Fyunka and also runs a blog under her name.
Before gaining fame as an artist and blogger, Balkhy graduated with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from Dar Al Hekma University in 2011. She later obtained her M.P.S. in design management from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn.
Balkhy’s designs have been featured on various platforms including CNN, Oasis magazine, and Emirates Woman. Born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; she grew up between Montreal, Canada and Jeddah before moving to reside in Brooklyn New York where she currently lives after getting married in March 2016.
